A behind-the-scenes look at how our Safaga team coordinates everything from customs clearance to chandlery — on a single morning shift.
Before dawn breaks over the Red Sea, the Felix Maritime operations desk in Safaga is already live. Emails from captains, port authority scheduling updates, and provisioning confirmations stack up through the night — and by 06:00, the team is already ahead of the first convoy.
Safaga port operates around the clock, and so does our team. The ops desk runs in two shifts, each handover documented in real time so that no captain request goes unanswered for more than two hours — regardless of time zone.
Every vessel gets a named agent. When a captain calls, they know exactly who they're speaking to. That continuity is everything in this industry.
From northbound Suez transits to fuel bunkering and crew change coordination, the Safaga desk manages upwards of 12 active vessels on any given day during peak season.
