We mounted a time-lapse camera on an S/Y Oyster 595 during her southbound Suez Canal transit. The result is 60 seconds of pure maritime cinema.
The Suez Canal is 193 kilometres long. A southbound yacht transit takes between 11 and 14 hours depending on convoy speed. We mounted a time-lapse camera on the foredeck of an Oyster 595 during her March 2026 transit and compressed the entire passage into 60 seconds.
The full length of the Canal — from the Mediterranean entrance at Port Said, past the Great Bitter Lake and the Ismailia crossing, through to the Red Sea exit at Port Suez. Container ships, bulk carriers, and tankers pass in both directions throughout.
The video is available on the Felix Maritime YouTube channel and has been embedded above.
